Soft Contact Lenses

Soft contact lenses are the most common type of contacts, made from flexible material that fits comfortably on the eye. They are available in several wear schedules including daily and monthly options and can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Soft lenses are often the easiest lens to adjust to and provide clear, comfortable vision.

Multifocal Contact Lenses

Multifocal contacts help people see clearly at all distances—near, far, and in between—without needing reading glasses. They have different prescription zones in one lens, making them great for people with age-related vision changes.

Specialty Contact Lenses

Various contact lens designs are available for those with irregular/distorted corneas. Scleral lenses are one of those designs that can markedly improve visual clarity and function for patients suffering from a variety of conditions. Scleral lenses are large, custom-fit hard lenses that rest on the white part of the eye instead of the cornea. They help people with dry eyes, keratoconus, or irregular corneas by creating a smooth, protective layer over the eye.

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) Lenses

Ortho-K lenses are worn overnight to gently reshape the eye, so you can see clearly during the day without glasses or contacts. They work best for people with mild to moderate nearsightedness and can help slow down worsening vision in kids. Ortho-K is a great option for those who want freedom from daytime eyewear.

Corrective Lenses

After determining the level of refractive error, we work with you to determine whether contact lenses or glasses are best for your lifestyle. If you suffer from certain conditions, such as dry eye or allergies, glasses may be the most comfortable corrective solution. Contact lenses are available in either soft or rigid gas permeable form. Contact lenses need to be changed daily or monthly, depending on what type of lens your doctor determines is best for you. Specialized contact lenses, such as bifocal contact lenses, are also available for patients with special eye conditions. Call us if you are interested in learning if contact lenses are a good fit for you.

Cosmetic Lenses

Advances in contact lens technology have created great options for cosmetic and prosthetic lenses. Custom contact lenses can be created to camouflage any color variation and produce a more natural eye color. Cosmetic lenses are also available to transform your eye color. Call us and speak to our knowledgeable staff if you are interested in modifying or changing your eye color with contact lenses.

Specialty Lenses

Various contact lens designs are available for eyes with irregular or distorted surfaces. Typical corrective lenses provide little improvement for these eyes. Scleral contact lenses are one of these designs that can markedly improved visual clarity and function for patients with these conditions. Valley Vision doctors are highly experienced in prescribing these lenses for patients with keratoconus, pellucid degeneration or scarred corneas.
